Two PhD students (m/f/d)
in the Department Bioresources for Bioeconomy and Health Research. The appointment will be for 3 years. The salary level will be TV-L E 13 (65%). Starting date will be January, 2021.
The goal of this project is the novel and efficient use of the aquatic hyphomycete cultures distributed in international culture collections. The main task of the PhD students will be (i) Sampling and preserving aquatic hyphomycete cultures (ii) Taxonomy and phylogeny of aquatic hyphomycetes (iii) Sequencing of genomes and (iv) Phylogenomics of aquatic hyphomycetes key taxa.
Candidates need to hold a Masters degree in Biology or a similar research field. They should have experience in mycology and working with molecular techniques. Knowledge in fungal taxonomy and genomics would be advantageous.
