Still places availableThis one-week course provides a concise overview of the biodiversity of organisms representing the Kingdom Fungi. We focus on systematics and general ecology of fungi, as well as related topics such as soil mycology and diagnostics of plant pathogens. Participants will learn methods for cultivation, and both morphological and molecular recognition methods, You will also gain practical hands-on experience in the morphological recognition of fungi. The course is intended for (micro)biology students, PhD students, technicians and scientists who would like to obtain a fundamental understanding of fungi. Lunches and the course book Laboratory Manual Series 1: Fungal Biodiversity by Crous et al. are included in the course fee. Accommodation and other meals are excluded.

“Towards the recognition of fungi as an independent kingdom of life in national and international legislation, policies and agreements, in order to advance their conservation and to adopt concrete measures that allow for maintaining their benefits to ecosystems and people in the context of the triple environmental crisis"
The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity is requested to develop a work agenda to be discussed at the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA) to address the conservation of macroscopic and microscopic fungi globally within the framework of the Convention on Biological Diversity and to advance concrete measures in Biodiversity Conservation Plans and Strategies.

We are excited to introduce "Asexual Fungi I", a groundbreaking book that is an essential resource for anyone passionate about contemporary mycology. This comprehensive work is authored by mycologists: Rafael F. Castañeda-Ruiz, Josep Guarro and De-Wei Li.
Why You Should Add This Book to Your Collection:
- Comprehensive Taxonomy: A compilation of over 500 taxa of enterogenous dematiaceous hyphomycetes, described as "tretic" (spores formed from the inner layers of conidiogenous cells, emerging through pores).
- Decades of Expertise: Spanning research from 1974 to 2022, this work reflects decades of study and provides updated taxonomic criteria, making it an invaluable resource for researchers, academics, and students.
- Fascinating Insights: Delve into the world of asexual fungi with tretic conidiogenesis, combining scientific rigor with accessible insights for both experts and newcomers to mycology.
You can purchase "Asexual Fungi I" directly from the official website: www.asexualfungi.com
It’s a resource that promises to enhance your understanding of fungal taxonomy and evolution—perfect for adding to your academic collection or personal library!
We invite you to explore the book and share it with colleagues, students, and fellow mycology enthusiasts. It’s an excellent addition for anyone interested in the fascinating field of mycology, phytopathology and biothecnology.
Thank you for your support of this important work in fungal research. I look forward to hearing your thoughts and reviews!
Warm regards,
