An Oral History for Mycology
- The inspiration for this project began at the 1966 St. Louis, Missouri, International Botanical Congress with the Interview of evolutionary botanist G. Ledyard Stebbins
- Fifty-eight years later, the first interviews of mycologists by Meredith Blackwell and Rob Samson took place at IMC11 in 2018 in San Juan, Puerto Rico where 32 mycologists were interviewed. During MSA meetings in Minnesota (2019) and Gainesville (2022), another 45 interviews were conducted
- Oral History article in IMA Fungus
- All interviews will be posted on YouTube and the IMA webpage
- The International Mycological Association will oversee the project from 2024 onwards
- Previous financial support (2018, 2019, 2022) from Louisiana State University Boyd Professor Research Fund to Meredith Blackwell
- Don Pfister, Rob Samson, and Meredith Blackwell will conduct interviews at the 2024 IMC12 at Maastricht, the Netherlands. Financial support by the Westerdijk Foundations
